Yay i rembered my password
its been ages since i been in here that i was afraid i might of forgotten my password but horray here i am.
Just had to have a quick read back to see where we are up too and i see i told you all that he was in a big boy bed. Well he loves his bed. The cot is now gone from his room. And on occasion he will take him self off into his room and we will find him trying to climb into bed by himself.
Ive been looking after dominic full time as well and with them only being 3 weeks apart in age it can be very full on. They are just the best of mates but can also be worst ememies at the same time and a just so much like brothers. they always get so excited to see each other athough that often doesnt last long when they both want the same toy. Dominic gave him his first black eye by pushing him off the chair they were fighting over.
Ethan just got his 5th tooth the otherday. They seems to take ages to come though.
The wet weather has been driving Ethan nuts as he is such an outside boy, Loves to be outdoors and when he see John pull in the driveway he rushes to try put on his hat or shoes so he can go out and work on cars with daddy. But nowthe weather is getting better we are able to head down to the park alot more. Hehe, took him down there with his little trike one saturday, he loved it, Although just like his parents he prefers to go off the beaten track and opts for the grass/bark/gravel to ride on instead of the path. We cruised round for about an hour happy as, untill it was time to come home. Well that was fun. We had the neighbours coming out to see what all the ruckus was as I walked home Trike under one arm and kicking screaming full blown tantruming toddler under the other. Got home and put him down on the deck where he continued for another 5 mins while lady from next door and I laughed our heads off. I had tears rolloing down my cheeks and sore sides from laughing so much when he decided we werent paying him enough attention and stomped off inside.

What a big boy...
Gosh doesnt time fly, only seems like the otherday I was pregnant with Ethan. In the last couple of weeks we have had some big boy milestones, Few weeks ago he had his first haircut. He has also leart how to ride his litle birthday trike forwards (used to race around on it going backwards) He is now running around everywhere, crawling being a thing of the past. He has become attached to his blanky and will only sleep if he has it with him to cuddle.
AND..... he now sleeps in a big boy bed. Last week we bought him a solid wood set of bunks with a trundler bed underneath which has 3 drawers in it. It looks great and suits his room prefectly. We tried him in it the other night and he loved it so thats where he now sleeps (although we do still have the cot in his room for now)
Last month Ethan got his first 3 teeth (over 5 days) as well as Dominic starting fulltime so that was a prety full on time as both very unsettled and sleep times all up the whack, however things seem to be settling back into a routine now. (although we do have number 4 tooth trying to break through at moment)

Ethans Grandma (my mum) wrote this one night she was babysitting... I love it, Thanks Mum
Our little darling is sleeping. Stretched out on his side with head tilted back and one arm flung casually across the teddy bear, he sleeps without a care.
How beautiful is a sleeping child.
I stand by the cot watching him breathe. His little chest rises and gently falls. Then ever more slowly as he sinks deeper into slumber.
How beautiful is a sleeping child.
It seems like just the other day that we watched him sleeping in hospital, exhausted from his journey into life. We marveled at his perfection and strained to recognize whose characteristics his little face portrayed.
How beautiful is a sleeping child.
Looking through the eyes of love, my heart expands. There is no limit to the joy I feel in being the grandmother of this precious child.

Heres some of the latest photos
My babys one.....
Gosh, I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. Ethan turned one on Saturday, and to celebrate we took him to the pools. He loved it and ended up swimming for over and hour and a half. He liked playing with the bubbles in the spa pool and laughed at getting pushed around by the wave in the wave pool. My friend Biddy and I stayed up on Friday night decorating his birthday cake and were so please with how it turned out. (See photos)
Last month John and I ran a 4wdrive training day for the Landrover club. We only found out at the start of the month that we were doing this, so it was a bit crazey for a bit with organising that. However the day went really well, we had about 45-50 trucks turn up and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. So that was great.
We also helped the scouts out on the Leys tramping competion (weekend prior to our training day), We were manning a base (tyre change) and then camping up at the summit of the track for the night, well about 9pm Ethan woke up vomiting so it was a hasty retreat out of the bush in the dark, to get down to a friends place where we got all cleaned up, and spent the night. It was a tummy bug that I had come down with on the thursday night but as it didnt last very long thought it might of just been something I ate, But no, John ened up coming home on monday form work with it, Grandad (brian) came down with it tuesday, Dominic ended up catching it as well as his mummy and daddy. In otherwords it was very contagious. But we are all over it now.
Ethan has also started walking a little, took his first steps the weekend he got sick, then refused to walk the following week but is now standing very well unsupported and takes about 4-5 steps at a time... my clever boy.

I posted the other day
but for some reason it didnt show up and as I didnt have time to play around with it then Im doing it now.
We are all good, sick , but good. John got a cold last week which he has since passed on to Ethan and now Im all blocked up and have tickly throat. Also thhis week I started looking after a friends little boy in the afternoons (who also has a cold), so have been running round wiping noses, giving cuddles etc.
However it hasnt all been bad. Between grizzles the boys have been having a great time chasing each other round, throwing toys over the gate and fighting over "whos is whos" sipper cup.
Also over the last few weekends we have been down to paeroa for the "battle of the streets" motorcycle racing. Went down with group of people all on bikes (including Johns new boss). 4wdriving working bee on the paper roads, Down to gisbourne for Nana Lorraines birthday. which as really good. especially when she stole Ethan for the afternoon so we were able to relax (john had a snooze and I had good long soak in spa bath with book. Then last weekend we did a 4wdriving night run. we originally decided that we werent going to stay the night out there but as more people set up their tents it started to look like it might be really good fun so I raced home to get the tent and we camped out too.

Sorry, didnt realise
it had been so long since I updated. Christmas has been and gone. Gosh it was so cool. Ethan got lots of pressies and lots of cuddles too. Ive got photos to load when I get home to show you. He looked so cute in his little santa hat.
Over new years we went camping up just past dargiville at Kairi Trounson Park. Ethan loved playing with the bigger kids (friends we camped with) We went over and spent a day at Kaiiwi lakes and spent the day swimming etc.
After camping we spent a week just hanging about round home, One day we went down to Karangahake gorge and went for a walk (1 1/2 hours each way) Then on the way back stopped at Pearoa for icecreams then fish and hips at a friends for tea (they also came for walk)
John is now back at work, and during his first week back Ethan decided he wouldnt take a bottle from me during the day so had been waking up at night starving. Although after john being home for weekend he realised it was all ok so was fine the next week.
John has a new boss starting this week and the bisness has been sold. New owners seem pretty cool and they take over next week.
We had the paddling pool set up and had i shallow enough for him to crawl around. he loved racing around the side and then the whirlpool effect would take over sending the water toys around which he would the chase.
Also last week we were given a Rangerover. a 88 classic which is going to become the family tough truck as the series 1 we cant put a carseat in and the disco we dont want to damage.
And as for me I working today (hence the free moment to catch up with this. On monday Im going sailing with the scouts for Auckland Anniversary Day. Brian is going to come along too and John is going to spend day with Ethan.
